Amber R. Spurlock

Before returning to Tad Nelson & Associates as a criminal defense attorney in April 2011, Amber Spurlock served as an Active Duty JAG in the United States Air Force for three years. During this time, Ms. Spurlock prosecuted Active Duty Air Force members for misdemeanor and felony level charges in military Courts-Martial. She also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Florida and in the Eastern District of Virginia where Ms. Spurlock prosecuted civilians in Federal Court for misdemeanors committed on the respective military Installations. In addition to her service here in the United States, Ms. Spurlock also deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, in 2009-2010. Here, Ms. Spurlock worked with military Intelligence to present cases against Iraqi detainees to Iraqi judges in their courts in the Red Zone for charges relating to beheadings, executions, IED detonations and kidnappings. Ms. Spurlock also served on the trial team prosecuting an Army Captain for allegedly ordering the execution of two Iraqi detainees. Ms. Spurlock is proud of her service in the United States Air Force and excited to be back at Tad Nelson & Associates where she practiced criminal defense before joining the military.
